Club Championship Round 5
Today we mostly sweated!
Sweated when we got out of bed. Sweated
while having breakfast, sweated while
driving to Post Hill and definitely sweated
when setting out the sections!
John and Greg plotted the sections one to
five which turned out on the easier side.
This may or may not have been intentional
knowing that Howard, Mark and Simon went in
the other direction to plot 6 to 10.
While everyone else continued to sweat
either riding or observing, Sue was
observing with natural air con activated in
the quarry.
Somewhere we won't be sweating is Cam Head
where our next trial the Trials UK White
Rose trial is to be held in September.

Stan Pitts trial report

After spending all day Saturday, digging, shifting, plotting,
riding and planting flags. 14 sections were waiting for the Stan
Pitts trial.
We were rewarded with nearly 40 entries Some say this is a
shame for the kind of trial this is. However, just to keep this
fantastic piece of land in use keeps us going. Hardly June
weather was on the agenda with brief rain showers and small
chinks of sunshine. I say brief, hardly any! We were over run
with observers and were very thankful that every section was
marshalled.
It seemed the sections got a little harder as the day wore
on, so, those that got off early probably had the best of the
going.
One thing that Halton Gill offers is a good ride around.
So, a simple section becomes an arduous task when arm pump has
set in on the third lap. Danny Gamble was the top dog with Dave
Petty topping the clubman A and riding an immaculate 90's Gas
Gas Anthony Ayrton was triumphant on clubman B with Paul
Gravlstock keeping him on his toes with another retro ride on
the twinshock Fantic. We hope you all enjoyed yourself and tell
your friends for next year....

Don't quite know how he does it, but regular observer Brian
Aryton manages to observe and capture rider images as well. The 3
